LTL performs Stress Corrosion Cracking Analysis per ASTM C 692. This testing covers the influence that various thermal insulations have on the tendency to cause external stress corrosion cracking (ESCC) of austenitic stainless steels as the result of leachable corrodants.

The test is performed by placing a pre-stressed specimen on a heated test fixture, the specimen is covered with the subject insulation, and then a controlled application of distilled or deionized water is applied for a 28 day period.

Other Corrosion Testing Services:

· In addition to ESCC testing, LTL also performs Chemical Analysis of Thermal Insulation Materials per ASTM C 871 for the presence of leachable corrodants.

· Corrosion Testing to ASTM A 262

· Environmental Humidity Chamber

· Salt Spray Testing
