LTL performs Stress Corrosion Cracking Analysis per ASTM C 692. This testing covers the influence that various thermal insulations have on the tendency to cause external stress corrosion cracking (ESCC) of austenitic stainless steels as the result of leachable corrodants. |

The test is performed by placing a pre-stressed specimen on a heated test fixture, the specimen is covered with the subject insulation, and then a controlled application of distilled or deionized water is applied for a 28 day period. |
