Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) & Inspection
Non-destructive inspection is a reliable and convenient method used to inspect a broad range of parts, components, and materials. These techniques are employed to detect surface, subsurface, and internal defects. NDT is an essential tool to assure product quality, safety, and reliability. New Castle, Delaware-based Lehigh Testing Laboratories offers a variety of non-destructive inspection services including both in-house and field inspections. Our NDT methods include the following:
| Radiographic Testing (RT)
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
| Ultrasonic Testing (UT), including Shear Wave and Straight Beam Testing
NDT can be used to inspect materials such as castings, plate stock, rotors, housings, composites, electronics, and a variety of other components and products.
Process Safety Management & Mechanical Integrity Inspections
29 CFR 1910.119 (Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals), which is administered by OSHA, mandates that manufacturers and/or processors using any one of almost 150 chemicals, flammable liquids, or gasses in their process must ensure the safety of their employees against the consequences of a catastrophic release of toxins.
Certified Weld Inspections (CWIs)
Lehigh Testing Laboratories also provides CWIs per American Welding Society (AWS) guidelines. We offer on-site weld process witnessing and visual weld inspections to AWS and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) codes for welds in building construction, bridges, piping systems, and other critical structures.
